KARACHI: A Japanese group has agreed to invest $40 million in information technology (IT) and wind energy sectors in Karachi.
According to an official statement, the Japanese Group DTS has presented a proposal of $40 million investment to Provincial Minister for Commerce and Industries Rauf Siddiqui.
A delegation of DTS group of Japan headed by group’s Chairman Dr Taka Hashi met with Sindh minister for commerce and industries at his office on Saturday.
The group has shown interest to invest in Karachi in different projects specially in Wind Energy sector and IT field.
The group has also showed interest to invest in automobile sector and introduce the new Japan made 3-wheeler electric and solar car in cheap rates in Pakistan.
Siddiqui said there is a healthy atmosphere of investment in Sindh specially in Karachi, we will support all foreigners and local investors.
He said we will extend all out of support to the investors and provide them full security and facilities as well as will facilitate and welcome foreigner investments in Karachi and Sindh.
He directed the concerned officials to arrange the one window operation system to the resolve of foreigner investors problems. The visiting delegation from Japan also discussed other issues of mutual interests during the meeting with the Sindh minister.
