The climate change situation in Pakistan is a huge problem for the entire nation. Even though it is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change, it lacks strong infrastructure to face natural disasters such as floods, water shortages, earthquakes, landslides etc.
This year, erratic weather including unseasonal heavy rains are threatening the agricultural sector and food sector in Pakistan. Meanwhile, the previous monsoon was unusually dry. Such big swings in weather patterns are unsustainable. However, there are some steps we can take to limit our exposure to catastrophe, including building dams to store and utilize rainwater.
