| Pakistan retaliates to Nato shelling on Angoor Adda |

TANK/PESHAWAR: The US-led Nato forces on Tuesday fired around 11 artillery shells at the Angoor Adda town of the South Waziristan Agency (SWA), resulting in an exchange of fire between the Pakistani and foreign troops stationed in Afghanistan.
Talking to The News from Angoor Adda, official and tribal sources said the US-led foreign forces fired 11 artillery shells from its Machadaat military camp in the Paktika province, Afghanistan.
All the artillery shells fell near the security posts jointly manned by the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps (FC) personnel. It, however, did not cause any loss of lives to the soldiers or any damage to their posts.
Military sources based in Wana, the headquarters of South Waziristan, also confirmed artillery shelling on the Pakistani territory but said the troops remained safe.The sources said the Pakistani security forces did not respond to the foreign aggression.
There were also reports that after the artillery shelling, the US-led forces opened indiscriminate fire on the Pakistani soldiers from their heavy machine guns, but did not cause any harm to the troops.
The Pakistani security forces were reported to have returned the fire but the military sources denied such reports.“As far as I know, the Pakistani security forces did not respond to any of the US attacks,” said a military official, who pleaded not to be identified.
Meanwhile, two US jet fighters violated the Pakistani airspace and were seen flying over the border Lowara Mandi village in the NWA for about 15 minutes on Tuesday evening.A senior government official in Miramshah confirmed the incident and said the two US warplanes later returned to Afghanistan after flying for sometime over the Pakistani border areas.
However, the Pakistan Army Spokesman, Maj-Gen Athar Abbas, when contacted, said he had no information about any of the incidents.Separately, tribal sources told The News from Miramshah that two US spy planes again intruded into the NWA and continued flying over several villages. They said tribesmen fired at the US drones with heavy weapons but as usual, could not shoot down the spy planes.
