ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur Thursday said that people will not accept slaves, mandate thieves and money launderers who even broke Pakistan to grab power.

Speaking here at an event to mark the 28th foundation day of PTI, the party leaders claimed that it was a story of resilience as the fabulous 28 years of PTI’s struggle changed Pakistan forever. They resolved not to compromise on Imran Khan’s vision of ‘slavery unacceptable’ come what may.

Addressing the event, Gandapur said that it was an important day that they were marking the 28th Foundation Day of PTI. However, he added the nation’s beloved leader who established this political party was unlawfully incarcerated in false, concocted and politically motivated cases. He said that on the one hand, his leader was sentenced in the Toshakhana case when he did nothing illegal while, on the other hand, those who had taken expensive vehicles unlawfully from Toshakhana were made president, prime minister and chief minister of Punjab.

“Those who are doing all these things should keep in mind that the nation is not stupid and is well-aware of the facts,” he added. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali noted that the founding chairman always talked about the rule of law and equality before the law as he wanted true public representatives in the assemblies, not strangers. “He asked me to award tickets to genuine and sincere party people irrespective of their financial status and political background,” Gohar explained.

He again said that Imran Khan was in jail due to bogus, false and politically motivated cases framed against him, telling the Chief Justice of Pakistan that the nation was looking towards him for justice, and could not wait for 45 long years to get justice.

Delay in justice, he insisted, was tantamount to denial of justice and called for immediate release of, what he called, all the unlawfully detained PTI leaders, including Imran Khan, who did not believe in power sharing formula but politics of people and principle.

He revealed that the PTI founding chairman instructed him to join meetings with foreign dignitaries if the government invited him. However, he added, the government did not invite the PTI leaders. Barrister Gohar urged the nation to come out in good numbers against the polls fraud today (Friday).

Speaking on the occasion, PTI Secretary General and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan said that the sole message of Imran Khan for the people was that he would not compromise on his principle of ‘Haqeeqi Azadi’ of the nation, come what may. “The chains of slavery are to be broken and your flight should be that of a free person,” Omar said.

He alleged that Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s spouse, was kept in solitary confinement and she was poisoned, having no health issue prior to detention. However, he made it clear that those who unleashed a reign of terror should bear in mind that she was not the PTI founding chairman’s weakness rather she was his strength.

Omar vowed that they would start a decisive movement to ensure the release of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Parvez Elahi and other women and party workers, who were either in jails or military custody.

PTI senior leader MNA Shehryar Afridi said that no power on earth could force his leader Imran Khan to make a compromise. Former Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister Khalid Khursheed said that Imran was being punished for talking of real independence of Pakistan.
