| Rally supports Swat operation |

| LAHORE THE Tahaffuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Mahaz held a rally on Tuesday condemning the Taliban and supporting Swat military operation. The participants of the rally, belonging to around two dozen parties of the Sunni alliance, took out the rally from Data Darbar and marched towards Masjid Shuhada, raising slogans against Taliban and demanding their eradication while condemning those opposing the Swat operation. The rally was led by TNRM president and Jamia Naeemia principal Dr Sarfraz Naeemi, Mufti Muhammad Khan Qadri, Pir Khawaja Qutubuddin Faridi, Pir Atharul Qadri, Pir Saifur Rehman, Ghulam Muhammad Sialvi, Pir Hanfi Saifi, Pir Abid Saifi, Maulana Abdul Mustafa, Maulana Razaul Mustafa, Mujahid Abdul Rasool, Sunni Tehrik president Sarwat Ijaz Qadri, Muhammad Ali Naqshbandi, Imdadullah Qadri, Tahir Tabassum and Maulana Naeem Noori. Addressing the participants at Regal Chowk, Dr Sarfraz Naeemi said the military operation must continue till complete eradication of the Taliban. He said those opposing the operations were not patriotic and secretly supporting the Taliban who had caused irreparable loss to Islam. He lashed out at leaders of the religious leaders who opposed creation of Pakistan. He announced that an all Pakistan Ulema and Mashaikh convention would be held on June 10 at the Aiwan-e-Iqbal to reaffirm the cause of Pakistan. Mufti Muhammad Khan Qadri said the Taliban were fighting against the army with support from Washington and Delhi. Pir Atharul Qadri said the US, India and Israel were creating the Taliban inside the training centres in NWFP. Other speakers included Engr Salimullah Khan, Mukhtar Shah, Mufti Masood Ahmad, Mufti Haseeb Qadri, Pir Afzal Qadri, Syed Safdar Shah, Shahid Gardezi, Ziaul Haq Naqshbandi, Munir Ahmad Yusufi and they demanded banning all sectarian outfits, taking over all those seminaries found involved in terrorism, abolishing pro-US policies and halting drone attacks. |
