LAHORE: The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has decided to launch a countrywide ‘Difa-e-Pakistan campaign’ to create public awareness against Nato attack on Pakistan’s border military posts in Mohmand Agency near Durand Line that left over two dozens soldiers killed and many wounded a fortnight ago.

This decision was taken at an All Parties Conference of various parties of Ahle Sunnah school of thought held on Wednesday with Chairman SIC Sahibzada Fazle Karim in the chair. According to the campaign programme chalked out by the conference, the Sunni Ittehad Council will observe ‘Condemn America Day’ on December 23 and hold a public meeting in Gujranwala on January 8.

The SIC leaders will also record a protest at the United Nation observers office in Islamabad against Nato aggression against Pakistan. The meeting also decided to launch campaign for hoisting national flags on houses, offices and shops to promote patriotism and unity among citizens.

The All Parties Conference also evaluated strategy for taking part in the next general elections. Addressing the participants, Sahibzada Fazle Karim urged the rulers to end agreement regarding facility of air corridor to the US and vacate all airbases including Pasni and Jacobabad’s.

Secretary General Sunni Ittehad Council Haji Hanif Tayyab said the nation would not allow the US hegemony and restoration of the Nato supply line. Vice Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council Afzal Qadri said the International Court of Justice should proceed against the US for war crimes.
