The visit of Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna got much media courage. Both countries agreed to ease visa restrictions, increase trade and resolve all disputes through dialogues. The reality is that, despite frequent visits of several key personalities, no genuine issue or disputes between both countries have been solved.

Only cosmetic steps and speeches can’t bring any meaningful change to the region. India and Pakistan are still spending huge amounts of money on defence. Unless both countries solve their longstanding disputes, the dream of peace in the region can’t come true.
