Official sources said the security forces and political administration carried out search operation and arrested 40 suspects from different areas of Khar subdivision. The arrested persons were shifted to Central Prison in Khar, the sources added.
The security forces pounded the militants’ positions in a number of places in Mamond tehsil with artillery guns. Several hideouts were destroyed in the shelling, but there was no word on loss of life.
The militants attacked the checkpost of security forces at Jangzai area in Mamond subdivision. The forces returned the fire, forcing the militants to flee from the area. Clashes between security forces and militants were also reported in Mulla Said area in Salarzai tehsil. However, no casualty was reported.
