Tandoor owners to observe strike on 8th

LAHORE:Tandoor owners have decided observing a strike on Wednesday (May 8) against what they call highhandedness by the authorities against their members over rates of roti and naan. According to an office-bearer of United Naan Roti Association, members of the association expressed their discontent with the fines imposed by the Punjab government on oven owners and shop sealing of their outlets. He said to lodge protest, the association vehemently refused to sell roti and naan at the officially announced rates from May 8. The office-bearer said the members of the association have declared an indefinite strike for pressing government to accept their demands. He said they will not sell naan and roti at the prescribed official prices.
