 Traffic rules ‘to be included in syllabi’

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) are constantly striving to inculcate traffic sense among the public through its road safety education programme to maintain road discipline for the safety of citizens, Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, SP Traffic Islamabad, said while addressing a road safety workshop arranged at Curriculum Wing, Ministry of Education. According to details ITP arranged a road safety education workshop at Curriculum Wing of Ministry of Education to impart training of officers and officials of the ministry to inculcate traffic rules and regulations. SP Traffic Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, DSP Traffic Syed Hassan Raza Shah, Joint Education Advisor Arif Majeed, Deputy Education Advisor Yasmeen Masud, Muhammad Nasir Khan Assistant Education Advisor and others participated in the workshop.

Ashfaq Ahmad Khan in his address said that the aim of holding such programme is to create a traffic sense among the citizens. He proposed the Ministry of Education that the traffic laws/rules should be included in syllabi from primary to higher secondary class to acquaint our children with traffic rules and regulations for bringing systematic change in road discipline and to provide cafe travelling to the road users.

The ITP is striving hard for utilising all available resources to create a sense of responsibility among the citizens to save the lives of public, he added.

Arif Majeed, Joint Education Advisor, in his address revealed that the Ministry of Education is including traffic rules and regulations in syllabus and the working process is going on. He added that the ministry will soon introduce the traffic laws in syllabus and will be sent to education institutions as early as possible.

The services and steps being taken by Islamabad Traffic Police were admired by the Joint Education Advisor. At the end of workshop certificates were awarded to the participants by the SP Traffic and souvenir was given to Joint Education Advisor.
