Displaced orphan molested twice

PESHAWAR: A teenaged boy from Swat, who lost his parents in the ongoing military operation and arrived here to save his life, was reportedly molested by an unidentified person at the General Bus Stand on Friday night. Jalal, 14, son of Musaib Khan from Mingora, also met the same tragedy in Rawalpindi, where he spent some days along with another child while cleaning vehicles in the bus stand. To avoid a miserable life in Rawalpindi, he reached Peshawar bus stand late in the night, where a person in plainclothes identified himself as policeman to the child. “He was carrying a pistol. I told him I haven’t fled the home and had nowhere to go,” the ill-fated child told The News. “But he was insisting to take me to the police station,” he added.
Farah Dogar case report finds violation of rules

ISLAMABAD: The inquiry into the Farah Hameed Dogar case has fixed the responsibility on the former FBISE chairman and three examiners for the “illegal re-assessment” of her answer-sheets and has taken a lot of pain to ascertain how the classified documents pertaining to this scam reached The News. A copy of the inquiry report, provided to this correspondent, clearly concludes: “The former chairman, Commodore (retd) Muhammad S Shamshad, by virtue of his position approved the re-assessment of the answer-sheets of Miss Farah Dogar in clear violation of the existing rules on the subject.”
Four rockets fired at post

KOHAT: Suspected militants fired four rockets at security forces post in Sheraki area of Darra Adamkhel on Saturday. Sources said the rockets missed the target and landed near the security forces post. In retaliation, the security forces in Kohat targeted the hideouts of the militants in Bostikhel area in Darra Adamkhel. There was no word on the casualties suffered by the militants till filing of this report.
One hurt in Lakki explosion

LAKKI MARWAT: A man was injured in a bomb blast in Kherukhel Pakka village on Saturday. Unknown miscreants had planted a homemade explosive device under a date tree near the house of one Qasim Maidadkhel, which went off early in the day. A villager identified as Samargul, who was working in the nearby fields, sustained injuries and was taken to local hospital. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the explosion. Meanwhile, police got closed bazaars and markets in several localities on the second consecutive day (Saturday) in order to clear Bannu-Mianwali road for Pak army convoy. According to eyewitnesses, police on two different occasions asked the traders to shut their shops and business places so that the army convoy could pass through the area safely. They said that law enforcers were deployed on both sides of the road in Lakki City and several other localities of the district.
Two women shot dead in Ghazi

GHAZI: Two women were shot dead in Pipliala area here Saturday. Polices sources said that Shabbir son of Sher Afzal forced his entry into the house of Khurshid and opened fire on the inmates, killing Waheeda Bibi and Sabiha Bibi on the spot.
Cop shot dead in Quetta
QUETTA: Unknown armed men gunned down a police constable on Arbab Karam Khan Road here on Saturday, police said. Constable Zulfikar was on his way home after performing his duty at the CM House when the armed men shot him dead. Police have registered a case against unknown assailants.
Two killed in TTP-TNSM clash in Bajaur

PESHAWAR: Two groups of militants started fighting each other in Bajaur Agency’s Mamond area late Saturday and reports said three fighters had already been killed in the fighting. The combatants were led by Maulana Faqir Mohammad, deputy leader of the Baitullah Mehsud-led Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and Masood Salar, who is the head of Maulana Sufi Mohammad’s Tanzim Nifaz Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM). The two were former allies but had turned against each other. Sources in Bajaur said Masood Salar’s elder brother was among those killed in the fighting. Two fighters of Maulana Faqir Mohammad were also killed in the clashes that were continuing till the filing of this report.
Afghan Taliban commander held in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Afghan Taliban commander Anwarul Haq Mujahid, son of late Mujahideen leader Maulvi Yunis Khalis, is in the custody of the police after his arrest here two days ago. Sources told The News that Mujahid was arrested, along with three of his colleagues, from Gulbahar locality of Peshawar. He is now being interrogated by the police.

Woman hurt in DI Khan
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A woman was injured in two separate blasts occurred here late on Friday night. The first blast occured when unknown miscreants hurled a hand grenade at a house in Kumharra Wala area, leaving a woman injured. She was later identified as Azra. The second explosion took place when some explosives, planted outside an electronics shop located in Masgaran Market, went off, completely destroying the shop.
Protests continue in held Kashmir
HELD SRINAGAR: The government forces fired shots and tear gas, as hundreds of Kashmiris protested on Saturday the deaths of two young women they claim were raped and killed by Indian soldiers. Despite a heavy deployment of armed troops, demonstrators took to the streets in at least half a dozen places in held Srinagar on Saturday, a police officer said on condition of anonymity.
