MMA world reacts to Ronda Rousey’s anti-fan, Khabib rant
Rousey said that she also hoped to retire undefeated
The Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) fans have hit back at mixed martial arts (MMA) athlete Ronda Rousey after she went on rampage against UFC fans and former champion Khabib Normagomedov.
Rousey, who retired after back-to-back knockouts in 2016, slammed MMA fans for praising Khabib, who retired in 2020 after staying undefeated in 29 bouts.
The 38-year-old American, now a retired professional wrestler and actress, said that fans praise Khabib because he retired early with a score 29-0 with his reputation intact.
She added that if Khabib continued fighting, fans would have eventually said, “he ain’t sh*t”.
She lashed out at the fans, blaming them for casting the greatest MMA legends aside as soon as their prime time was over.
Rousey said that she also wanted to retire undefeated but after joining World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), she realised that “everyone has to retire on a loss because you have to pass that torch on.”
Fans have now hit back at the former champion, with one user writing on X (formerly Twitter), “People love Charles and Dustin despite their losses, you are just a salty bum.”
Another user stated, “Not true. Charles Oliveira has 11 loses and is one of the most loved fighters EVER. George lost 2x and people love him. The majority of the time, it’s the way you carry yourself outside of fighting that will determine if people love you or not.”
UFC and Khabib have not yet responded to Rousey’s criticism.
