Quetta bowled out for 133
DUBAI: Peshawar Zalmi bowled out Quetta Gladiators for 133 despite a 79-run third wicket partnership between Kevin Pietersen and Kumar Sangakkara in their first qualifying final of Pakistan Super League at Dubai International Cricket Stadium here on Friday.
Gladiators had a poor start, losing both openers for just 11, but Pietersen and Sangakkara resurrected the innings. Both of them scored briskly as Pietersen hit five fours and two sixes in his 38-ball 53 and Sangakkara six fours in his 29-ball 37.
Except Mohammad Nawaz, who scored 20 off 18 balls, hitting two sixes and one four, no batsman troubled the scorers much after the departure of Pietersen and Sangakkara.
Wahab Riaz and Shaun Tait were the most successful bowlers with three and two wickets, respectively.
Skipper Shahid Afridi and Darren Sammy took one wicket each, but were expensive, while Hasan Ali and Mohammad Asghar bowled economically.
