Old woman slaughtered in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: An old woman was slaughtered while her granddaughter was seriously injured by some unidentified people at Talwandi Khajoorwali on Monday.
Sughran, 55, and her granddaughter Khadeja, 20, were sleeping in their home when some unidentified people entered the house and slit their throats with a sharp-edged weapon. As a result, Sughran died on the spot while Khadeja was seriously injured and rushed to the DHQ Hospital. Satellite Town police have registered a case.
MAN KILLED, 6 HURT IN ACCIDENT: A man was killed while six others sustained injuries in a road accident near Rahwali on Monday.
A speeding truck collided with a motorcycle rickshaw on GT Road. As a result, Zulfiqar died on the spot while six others sustained injuries.
DEMO AGAINST GAS LOADSHEDDING: Residents of Alam Chowk and adjoining areas staged a demonstration against long hours unscheduled gas loadshedding here on Monday.
The protesters, including women and children, chanted slogans against the government and the SNGPL officials for observing long hours gas loadshedding. The protesters also burnt tyres and blocked GT Road in protest. The protesters demanded the government take notice of the issue.
