World Population Day marked in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Population Welfare authorities arranged a walk to raise awareness among people on World Population Day.
Members of civil society, trade unions, social and political activists attended the event.
The participants, carrying banners and placards, chanted slogans to highlight the importance of the day.
The speakers including Assistant Commissioner of Dera Ismail Khan, Nawab Sameer Hussain Laghari, District Population Officer Muhammad Yousaf Gandapur and others said that being responsible citizens, everybody should know the impacts of the growing population as well as challenges faced by the world community because of that.
The district population officer stressed the need for campaigns in the district to raise awareness about the issue. He added that the district population office was holding special events in the offices at Yarak, Parova, Daraban, and Kulachi in this regard.
