Public prosecutor sacked

LAHORE:The Prosecution Department has sacked the deputy district public prosecutor on account of his long absence. This was stated by Prosecution Department Secretary Nadeem Sarwar while chairing a meeting here on Wednesday. He said Imran Ahmed Virk was posted as deputy district public prosecutor, Gujranwala. About six months back he was transferred and posted at Rahimyar Khan but he didn’t join the new place of posting despite repeated instructions. The secretary said an inquiry was held but Imran Virk didn’t appear before the inquiry committee. On the recommendation of the inquiry committee, he terminated from the government job under PEDA Act.
