Cop, biker injured by rashly-driven car

LAHORE : A rashly-driven car, SUV (Range Rover), hit and injured a biker and a cop on Canal Road here on Saturday.

Dolphins chased the vehicle and stopped it near Barkat Market Chowk. In their efforts, a policeman received injuries and was shifted to hospital.

The vehicle driver, ‘under the influence of liquor’, also dragged a bike and injured its rider. The vehicle caught a fire during the accident and was reduced to ashes in no time.

Rescue 1122 fire service reached the scene and controlled the fire. Police arrested the driver who was identified as Hamza Javed of 188-B DHA.

Man arrested for abducting girl: Chung Investigation police arrested a man who abducted an 18-year-old girl Tayyaba.

Police handed over the girl to her heirs. The accused identified as Ismail lured the girl and took her to Karachi.

SUSPECT ARRESTED: Shafiqabad police has arrested a suspect for display of illegal weapons on Saturday. The arrested suspect has been identified as Yasir.

He had uploaded videos with illegal weapons and Indian songs in background on social media.

Police recovered gun and bullets from his custody.

A case has been registered against him. Police said that they were investigating the matter.-

Body found

Body of a youth was recovered under suspicious circumstances from a graveyard in Batapur on Saturday.

A passerby spotted the body and informed the police who shifted it to a nearby hospital. Police said the cause of death would be ascertained after an autopsy.

Man crushed by train: A youth was killed by a moving train near Kot Radha Kishan Phattak Raiwind on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Shahbaz.

It was reported that Shahbaz was engrossed in attending the phone while crossing rail tracks near Kot Radha Kishan Phattak when he was hit by a train, resulting into his instant death.

His body was shifted to morgue.
