PSDA approves draft rules, staff hiring
LAHORE:Punjab Skills Development Authority (PSDA) Board on Friday approved the draft rules of authority alongside hiring of the staff.
The decisions were made in the PSDA Board’s third meeting presided over by Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Aslam Iqbal at the Authority office which approved the administrative and financial matters of the Authority.
The minutes of the second meeting of PSDA, meetings of HR Committee and Audit and Finance Committee were approved in the meeting. The Board approved a sum of Rs2 lakh for PSDA’s little expenses. The board directed to review the proposal of Performance Allowance for PSDA staff. For registration of technical education institutes in PSDA, Additional Director General will be the Registering Authority while DG will be the Appellant Authority.
Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal directed to register the institutions of Punjab Vocational Training Council in PSDA and said that registration fee of these institutions would be paid through supplementary grant.
The minister directed to ensure issuance of registration certificates of institutions within the timeline. He said that institutions of technical education were being brought under the PSDA umbrella. For this purpose, online registration of technical educational institutes is being done in PSDA. An integrated system has been evolved for the preparation of quality skilled manpower as per the requirements of the industry, he added.
Aslam Iqbal said that by equipping youths with modern knowledge, we will get to take the destination of development and prosperity of the country. Additional Director (Project) Haroon Naseer briefed about the PSDA performance, progress on online registration and other issues. He said that so far, 911 technical education institutes had signed up for registration with PSDA, in which include 22 government, 488 private and 401 Tevta institutions.
