By-poll tension

This refers to the editorial, ‘By-poll tensions’ (October 1). The editorial has touched upon a very important issue. The stay is temporary relief and under no circumstances should its period be more than 30 days.
There is only one solution to the issue: no appeal should be allowed against any verdict of election tribunals. If their decisions are to be reversed there is no point in having them. Let candidates approach the apex court directly.
