DIR: There was no doctor at the Emergency Ward to treat an unconscious woman brought to the District Headquarters (DHQs) Hospital on Wednesday, relatives said.
Subsequently, the relatives of the patient called Tehsil Nazim Dir Mir Makhzanuddin to record their protest.
The tehsil nazim reached the hospital and came to know that the doctor, who was supposed to be on duty, was nowhere to be seen. He also checked the duty roster, which showed that some doctors were absent.
Talking to reporters, Mir Makhzanuddin said he had called Medical Superintendent of DHQ Hospital Dr Ghani Rehman to ensure the presence of the doctor.
He said the doctor had not reached hospital when he arrived at the Emergency Ward and the woman patient was lying unconscious. The tehsil nazim said the doctor came after an hour. He said the doctor and other staffers were warned to ensure presence at the Emergency Ward round the clock or else they would be shown the door.
