By MINGORA: Taking notice of the rising incidents of target killings in Swat district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police, Sanaullah Abbasi on Wednesday suspended a superintendent of police, three deputy superintendents of police, and four station house officers and directed them to report to the Central Police Office, Peshawar.
According to the directives issued by the top cop, the suspended officials include SP Upper Swat, Bakhtzada, DSP Matta, Shaukat Ali, DSP Kabal, Akbar Shinwari and DSP Khwazakhela, Habibullah.
The suspended four station house officers are Aleem Khan of Matta Police Station, Gulshed of Kanju Police Station, Bakhtullah of Charbagh Police Station and Rahim Khan of Kabal Police Station.
Farman Khan, SP (Investigation) was posted as SP Upper Swat to replace the outgoing SP Bakhtzada.
The suspended officials were directed to report to the Central Police Office, Peshawar, immediately.
The other new appointees include Ayaz Khan as SHO Matta, Aziz Khan SHO Charbagh, Mujeeb Alam SHO Kanju and Naseer Ahmad as SHO Kabal. It was learnt that the frequent incidents of target killings of prominent personalities, including lawyers, doctors, and political and human rights activists across the Swat district, particularly in Matta tehsil, prompted the IGP to take action and change the police officers in a bid to control the situation.
