Subsidy on essential items sought

MANSEHRA: The fruit and vegetable wholesalers association has demanded the government to announce a subsidy on essential goods in Covid-19 emergency.

“If our government wants to cope with Covid-19 challenge, it should announce subsidy on essential commodities,” Baba Muhammad Waqar, the president of association, told a news conference here on Sunday.

“Though prime minister has announced financial package for the daily wagers, thousands of people have been rendered jobless in our district due to prolonged lockdown,” said Muhammad Waqar.
