Murder accused gets death sentence

GUJRANWALA: Model Court Special Judge Shakeel Ahmed Sapra Wednesday awarded death sentence to a murder accused.

According to the prosecution, accused Ali Hassan and his brother Ghulam Murtaza and others had shot dead a man in the area of Aroop Union Council over a minor issue. The court announced life imprisonment to the brother of main accused and acquitted their father by giving him the benefit of the doubt.

3 BOOKED: Civil lines police booked three accused on charges of taking forcibly an accused from police custody. The police arrested accused Arif, but his accomplices Rafique, Tariq and Shehzad took him from the police custody. Police have registered a case against the accused.

YOUTH TORTURED TO DEATH: A youth was tortured to death here in the area of Tatlewali police. Passers-by spotted the body of Waqar of Chadala lying in fields and informed the police. According to police, the youth was tortured to death and then his body was dumped in fields.
