I would like to raise the issue of the routine assassinations of polio workers in this country. Since 2012, 95 polio workers have been killed in various areas of Pakistan and many others have been critically injured. The major cause of these killings is the spread of false rumours among the population about the effects of the polio vaccination on children.
The negative attitude of the people towards these workers is shocking. The government must implement laws that better protect our brave polio workers and punish the culprits with the full force of the law.
