PESHAWAR: Administration of town-I conducted an anti-encroachment drive in the city on Wednesday and seized goods that had been placed outside shops. The administration conducted the drive in Asiya Gate, Circular Road and Sarki Gate localities. The squad also demolished illegal structures in the areas. The anti-encroachment staff has been directed to focus attention on removal of the illegal structures to facilitate general public. The traders were asked to extend cooperation to the administration and remove the mini-shops, kiosks and pushcarts from the fronts of their workplaces and footpaths, otherwise the demolition team would take action against them. The shopkeepers were warned that those resisting the operation would be arrested and booked under the relevant laws and heavy fines imposed on them.
