LAHORE:Punjab Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Basharat chaired a law and order meeting in Civil Secretariat on Friday.
Provincial ministers Taimoor Ahmed Khan, Rao Hashim Dogar, Chief Secretary Azam Salman,, IG Shoaib Dastagir, Lahore division commissioner, Special Branch additional IG, CTD additional IG, CCPO, DIG Operations and other officers concerned attended the meeting.
The rest of the divisions’ commissioners and RPOs participated in the meeting through video link. The meeting reviewed security arrangements for Christmas, Quid-e-Azam Day and New Year celebrations.
The law minister said that on December 25, special arrangements should be made for the security of the churches and educational institutions. The district administration should regularly check the swings of amusement parks during these days besides taking NOCs from respective authorities. He directed the officers concerned to ensure traffic management in big cities, especially in Murree.
"The district administration should also be in close contact with the local public representatives, civil society, businessmen and religious leaders. Strict security of major hotels and important public places is also needed on the occasion of the New Year,” the minister said.
