PESHAWAR: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Thursday approved 11 developmental projects worth Rs9524.842 million in different sectors including Education, Sports and Tourism.
The forum considered 12 projects pertaining to different sectors including Elementary & Secondary Education, Sports & Tourism and Multi-sectoral Development sectors for the uplift of the province.
Among the considered projects, 11 were approved with mutual consultation while one project was deferred due to inadequate design and was returned to the respective department for rectification. The approved projects of Elementary & 9th for the year 2021-22 and class 10th will be started in the year 2022-23, for which 80 seats would be allocated, thus the total strength of cadets in the college would reach the 400.
Mahmood Khan directed that 20 seats per class for tribal districts Mohmand and Bajaur each be allocated under the quota for students in the Mamad Ghat Cadet College while 10 seats per class for Khyber, 10 seats for the wards of martyrs and 20 seats per class should be on open merit all over Pakistan.
He directed the faculty of Swat Cadet College to improve the performance as the meeting approved the increase in induction strength of students from 100 to 120 cadets in a phased programme of three years.
