‘Settling’ down
The number of Pakistanis who are single and are potentially seeking a life partner is constantly on the rise. But the issue they face predominantly stems from the social unacceptability at the thought of being unable to find a suitable person to share the rest of their life with. We encourage our youth to obtain the best education and make glorious achievements, and yet we constantly apply unnecessary pressure on them to get married and ‘settle down’.
Many of the youth of Pakistan have a different mindset than that of their parents and grandparents. We should allow our youth to make their own life decisions without fear of social judgment, and encourage them to achieve their goals. That is the only way we will grow as a society and as a nation.
