ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has made a shocking disclosure about “conditions” upon which the opposition’s Azadi March sit-in was called off. “I was assured that a change would come in the month of December. I was assured that new general elections would be held in the next three months,” he revealed.

“We need to wait whether in-house change (in the parliament) is brought or the entire government is sent packing,” he said.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said while talking to journalists that the Maulana took nothing from Islamabad sit-in, but disappointment.

She said that A, B and C plans of the Maulana have failed miserably and now he is trying to mislead the party workers. She said the people of Pakistan had already rejected the extremist mindset in the 2018 elections and now again they have rejected them, staying away from the JUI-F sit-in.

Dr Firdous said that Nawaz Sharif’s demeanour in London stands in direct contrast to the picture portrayed back home regarding his health, and urged the PML-N leader to give the nation an update regarding his ailments soon. She said Nawaz Sharif's face has become livelier in London as she once again wondered why there have not been any updates on the former prime minister's health since he left Pakistan early last week. She said Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to resolving the problems of the judiciary.

Meanwhile, Dr Firdous urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take up the issue of the desecration of the Holy Quran in Norway as well as the plight of the Kashmiri Muslims.
