Finally, the Lahore High Court and the Lahore High Court Bar Association reached reconciliation and the bar called off its protest against a female judge’s ‘misbehaviour’ with the bar president after Chief Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik paid a surprise visit to the bar. The bar leaders and members warmly welcomed the chief justice and other judges. Talking to the media, Chief Justice Malik said there was no dispute among the bar and the bench. He said, “We have come to our home and nobody apologised to anyone.”Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah said they had come to the bar to have a cup of tea in a pleasant mood. After the departure of the judges, bar president Pir Masood Chishti told the members that the chief justice by visiting the bar had showed a big heart and consoled the lawyers. He hoped that no incident of ‘misbehaviour’ with any lawyer would occur in future.
The bar had been observing a boycott of the court of Justice Erum Sajjad Gull after, what it said, the judge ‘misbehaved’ with the president Chishti.
