Nawaz disappointed political parties: Qureshi
From Our Correspondent
MULTAN: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf national organiser Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Nawaz-Modi meeting portrayed a dismal situation as it finished without any outcome.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that the government had announced that it would submit proofs against the RAW in the UN but it was now using delaying tactics. He said that all the political parties, particularly the PTI, were expecting talks on core issues like Kashmir, Indian water aggression and RAW’s involvement in Balochistan, but Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif had disappointed them due to his ‘incompetence’. He said that the region was facing serious water crisis but the issue was not discussed in the Nawaz-Modi meeting. He said: “India and Pakistan need to implement the Indus Water Treaty in a letter and spirit”. The India was constructing Baglihar Dam and other reservoirs, boosting its water storage capacity and creating water problems for Pakistan. He said that he had personally discussed the issue with the then Indian prime minister during his visit to Delhi when he was the foreign minister before the Mumbai attacks.
He criticised MQM chief Altaf Hussain, saying that he had shown irresponsible attitude by giving provocative statements. He condemned Altaf Hussain for using abusive and provocative language against the institutions. He said that the Rangers were called in after the police failure in Karachi and there was a complete consensus among all the stakeholders.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the government had failed to deliver and provide relief to a common man. The economic team of the government had also failed in giving relief to the marginalised communities and neglected classes, he added.
