IslamabadTrain tragedy

This refers to the news report, ‘19 killed as troop train falls into canal’ (July 3). It is sad that we lost our soldiers and railway staff in the accident. Different versions are circulating in the media about the cause of the accident. Our railways minister did not rule out the possibility of sabotage.
However, it does not absolve the railways minister of his responsibility. It is the duty of the Punjab Railways and police to provide security to all rail movements, especially army movements. Now the only option left is to deploy troops for securing railway tracks because other agencies are not taking their job seriously. If the bridge was worn out and the tracks were faulty then some heads must roll.
