Rainy spell from Today

Islamabad : Promising a relief from the rising temperatures, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast a four-day rainy spell coupled with dust and thunderstorms in the country, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, from Wednesday.

According to a PMD official, a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country and is likely to intensify on Wednesday.

"Under the influence of the coming weather system, rains accompanied by dust and thunderstorms are likely to fall at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Balochistan, Upper Sindh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir from Wednesday to Saturday," he said. The weatherman said isolated heavy rainfall was also expected in Makran, Kalat, Zhob and DG Khan divisions on Wednesday and Thursday.

He said there was a high likelihood of cloudy weather with few chances of dust and thunderstorms with light rain along Sindh-Makran coast including Karachi on Thursday and Friday.
