DIG, two others removed for wrong reports
LAHORE: DIG Investigation Dr Inam Waheed and two officials have been removed from their posts on the charges of sending a wrong report on a complaint to the Pakistan Citizens Portal. Manawan Investigation incharge Farrukh Riaz and ASI Shafiq Mohsin are among the suspended officials. The government has also directed DG Anti Corruption Ijaz Shah to furnish an inquiry report within a week. A woman had lodged a complaint to the Pakistan Citizens Portal for the kidnapping of her daughter and requested for her early recovery. Punjab Police reportedly kept on sending wrong reports over the issue to which the PM Office had ordered an inquiry into it.
Banned: Inspector General of Police Punjab has banned the posting of trainee ASIs and Sub-inspectors as incharge of any branch, check-post and in field posting. He also ordered removal of the officials of the ranks from any such posts before April 16. The IG in his letter has stated that trainee ASIs and SI would be posted as heads of any branch on their confirmation on the ranks after passing A, B, C and D courses.
