Rawalpindi : Over 40 departments of Rawalpindi District Administration the directive of Punjab government will observe special cleanliness week from March 18 under ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ theme.
According to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Chaudhary Muhammad Ali Randhawa, all the arrangements have been finalized to launch the special cleanliness campaign on Monday.
He said, efforts would be made to sensitize the public to make the campaign a success.
All the allied departments would also be encouraged to come forward to play an effective role and cover maximum urban and rural areas of the district, he added.
The DC said special tree plantation would also be carried out in different areas of the district under the cleanliness week.
According to Assistant Deputy Commissioner, General, Maleeha Jamal, over 3000 saplings of different species would also be planted under Clean and Green Punjab.
She informed that the cleanliness campaign would be launched on Monday at main campus of Fatima Jinnah Women University.
Special programmes would be arranged to highlight importance of cleanliness at schools and colleges, she added.
Over 40 departments including Police, Traffic Police, Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner offices, Education, Health, PHA, District Council, Municipal Corporation, Chaklala Cantonment Board, Local Government, RDA, WASA, Social Welfare, Auqaf, Civil Defence, Rescue-1122 and other departments would take part in the campaign and organize special activities while participation of general public and political leaders would also be ensured.
