Protest against poor road condition

Rawalpindi : The residents of Defence Road and Caltex Road on Tuesday staged protest demonstration against dilapidated conditioned of roads in their locality which make it difficult for them to travel.

Even school going children could not cross roads due to potholes inundated roads.

The angry protesters blocked Defence Road New Lalazar and burnt tyres raising slogans against concerned authorities in this regard. Traffic on Defence Road remained suspended for some time during protest demonstration on the occasion.

The speakers during protest demonstration said that they were facing hell like situation round the clock due to bad conditioned roads. The rainwater accumulated on roads worsened its condition. Even ‘Nimazis’ could not pass through Defence Road and Caltex Road, they said. They also said that broken drains and uncovered manholes are the major reasons of bad accidents.
