On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Punjab Health Department has released Rs 30 million for Ameer Ud Din Medical College and Post Graduate Medical Institute for the purchase of 200 microscopes.
The microscopes would be purchased forthwith.
According to a handout, Principal PGMI & LGH Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said this while presiding over a meeting.
Vohra said the microscopes will enable under graduate and post graduate medical students of Ameer Ud Din Medical College and PGMI to undergo proper practical training in all disciplines meeting the required standards as laid down by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and University of Health Sciences.
He said the step would keep the students of both the medical institutes abreast with the latest and modern techniques and developments in the field of health sciences. He said the equipment would be helpful decreasing brain drain from the country.
