PESHAWAR: Students at a colourful “Open Day” function amused visitors with their colourful costumes portraying different professions and performing on poems of prominent poets here at a private school.
The students performed different tasks by taking to the stage turn by turn resulting in appreciation by the visitors who encouraged them with applause.
In some of the presentations, the costumes and performance of the little performers added colour to the celebration. The school was nicely decorated with colourful balloons, and bunting giving a fascinating sight to the visitors. The classrooms were arranged to portray workplaces of different professions including tailoring shop, medical clinic and laboratory. The teachers had helped the students to choose suitable costumes to match the characters. Several others were clad in Halloween costumes.
They also performed on poems of the national poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The “Open Day” is celebrated every year by the school and on this day there is an open invitation to parents and the community to witness the performances.
A number of parents and community members turned up at the event to witness the collective efforts put up by students, faculty and management. Such events helped people to look around the school and know about their learning and teaching strategies.
