The 6th Convocation of Virtual University of Pakistan was held at the Expo Centre Lahore on Wednesday in which degrees were awarded to graduate students.
According to a press release, a total of 2,439 students were conferred degrees for the successful completion of various graduate degree programmes. A total of six gold medals and 28 merit certificates were also awarded to the outstanding graduates. Vice-Chancellor Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Dr. Syed Sohail Naqvi was the chief guest, while Rector Virtual University of Pakistan Dr. Naveed A Malik was also present. An audience, including proud parents, members of faculty, eminent personalities from academia, corporate, and public sector attended the event. Dr. Naveed A Malik, while addressing the students, highlighted the achievements of Virtual University, its leading role in delivering information and communication technology based education and contribution to the provision of quality education even to the remotest areas of the country.
Earlier, Dr. Syed Sohail Naqvi said the university convocation was a time to witness academic grandeur in the form of its prolific faculty and graduate students. It is a time of excitement and eagerness for VU students to embrace their upcoming opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities.
