Seeing only brighter side!

We are a peaceful nation. We abhor violence, hate hooliganism, dislike rowdy protests, strictly follow the laws of the land, listen attentively and obey to commands of our leaders, care for not only our personal assets but the public and private property as well, love beautiful things and protect and preserve those found around us.
Ours is the country that is globally recognised to be the cradle of human history’s most ancient civilisations like Gandhara, Mehrgarh, Harappa, Taxila and many more. And we have been so possessive about our heritage that we, as a nation, have not allowed even a single artefact found from these sites leave the country, legally or illegally.
Also, the whole nation stands united to guard and preserve this heritage of ours. We take this heritage as our inheritance from our past that nurtured on this soil and out of which we have sprouted. And our soil is like our mother. And selling even an ounce of dust from these sites to aliens is considered humiliating as selling one’s own mother.
We live in a country where there are no public protests on the roads and even if people want to stage a protest to express their concerns, they do that in a civilised manner. There are spots allocated in each town and city all over the country where people can go and stage a protest rally or ‘sit-in’ and we never ever disturb the normal public life.
We are living in a blissfully peaceful atmosphere where there is complete inter-faith harmony, extreme sectarian tolerance, ethnic brotherhood, racial coherence, no terrorist attacks, no bomb blasts, no suicide attacks and no target killings.
I believe all these aspects must have been in the minds of the planners of extremely useful Metro Bus Service when they decided to build these glass encased landing stations all along its route.
It may have been pretty expensive. But one must concede that these indeed have added to the beauty of the city. Especially during the night time, these will become illuminated islands when bright lights will reflect from all their facets after sunset.
I will not be surprised at all if we may see the scenes of one or two of these landing stations appearing in some popular TV serials or films. Who knows some director in the Hollywood or Bollywood may get inspired! Beyond doubt, the scenes from these Metro Bus landing stations will hit the social media, on Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and others and will play a major role in convincing people all over the world as to how peaceful our country is where we have these glass encased landing stations for our Metro Bus Service.
Obviously we are facing no shortage of electricity to illuminate these ‘all-glass’ landing stations of the Metro Bus Service.
And because of the ideal peace prevailing in the country there is no threat to the safety of these glass-encased landing stations and there is hardly any chance of those inside getting hurt in case a sheet or two of these may crash because of some natural calamity. We shall never even think if some terrorist would be tempted to try to plant some IED or some suicide bomber would try to blow one of these beautiful landing stations. We don’t have this sort of elements in our society.
Well, one can’t fight the nature and nobody should blame any human being if some catastrophic situation pops out of the blue.
And the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in particular and those all over the country in general should be grateful and must bow their heads in respect and gratitude to our leaders who have spent all this money for such a project in which they have so effectively mixed utility with beauty.
There are always cynics around who would holler about ill use of taxpayers’ money. But they shall not forget that this also include the mindboggling amounts of money our elected representatives are paying in taxes.
Well, we shall take them as the blessed ones and not have a jaundiced view of the situation and get green. Instead, we should focus on the brighter side of the picture.
