LANDIKOTAL: The family of Wilson Wazir, who was decorated with Sitara-e-Imtiaz, for working for the rights of the minorities in Fata, celebrated the achievement with enthusiasm.
A large number of Christians, including women and children, had gathered at Wilson’s home in Landikotal Servants’ Colony here on Tuesday.Wilson Wazir, 40, was the first Christian in Fata who received Sitar-e-Imtiaz for his efforts to bring up the life standard, create jobs and education opportunities for the minorities living in Fata.
Wilson Wazir told The News that he was happy and proud that the government acknowledged his efforts that he made for the rights of Christians, Sikhs and Hindus in Fata. He said it was a momentous day in his life when the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor awarded him the civil award.“I have been encouraged and motivated to make untiring efforts for the rights of the members of the minority groups,” he added.
