Qul for Pashto writer today
MARDAN: Qul for prominent Pashto poet, writer educationist and author of several books, Prof Farmanud Din Bakhshali, will be held today (Monday) at Bakhshali village.
Prof Farmanud Din died on Saturday after a protracted illness and his Namaz-e-Janaza was offered at his village Bakhshali in Mardan district.
He was laid to rest in his native graveyard. Relatives, well-wishers, poets, journalists and government officials attended the last rituals of the prominent writer.
The deceased had also served as chairman of the Pashto Department of Islamia College, Peshawar.
Farmanud Din was close to the freedom fighter Abdul Ghafar Khan alias Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan and took part in Khudai Khidmatgar Movement.
The deceased was a founding member of Pakhtun Students Federation (PSF), the student wing of Awami National Party (ANP).
