CADD’s record seeking order panics deputationists
Islamabad: Panic has spread among the deputationists, who got themselves absorbed into the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Federal Government Polyclinic and National Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM) as staff members as the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) sought their service records.
Though the CADD didn’t cite any reason, the relevant officials strongly feel that the move comes over the fears of the Supreme Court’s action against the non-implementation of orders for the repatriation of officials, who joined the PIMS, Polyclinic and NIRM on deputation or transfer basis after 1994 and became staff members later on.
The CADD has the administrative control of all health-related organisations in the capital city in the post-devolution regime. According to the officials, the division formally asked these and other organisations overseen by it to produce service records and other relevant details of the employees, who joined them either by transfer or deputationist before being absorbed, without delay.
The communication panicked the affected staff members, who fear that the Supreme Court, which is currently examining the affairs of health centres in the city, especially recruitment, will order their immediate repatriation in line with earlier orders.
Claiming their absorption had happened in accordance with the law and, they said their repatriation after so many years would disturb them and their family members, who all were settled well in the city.
However, some hospital employee strongly felt that the CADD move would bring about nothing like the similar ones made in the past. They said only the SC could make the division repatriate the influential deputationists, who had got themselves absorbed into the city’s hospitals instead of returning to parent organisations. When contacted, the administrations of the PIMS and Polyclinic promised the early dispatch of the sought-after records to the CADD.
