GUJRANWALA: Contract employees of Grade-IV Saturday staged a protest outside the DCO office demanding their regularization. The employees staged the demonstration under the leadership of labour leader Malik Humayun. They raised slogans and blocked a road for some time. Later they dispersed conditionally.
INJURED DIES: The second victim of dacoits’ firing Dr Amjad, who was shot and injured at Mandiala Warraich in cantonment police area, also died at DHQ hospital. Earlier, Qasim died of dacoits firing.
INDIAN CLOTH CONFISCATED: Customs intelligence team Saturday confiscated a truckload of Indian cloth at a picket on Chenab Bridge. According to customs sources, the Lahore-bound truck was carrying the Indian cloth which was first smuggled to Kashmir and then to Pakistan. The cloth is estimated as Rs 10 million worth. The Customs officials arrested the truck driver.
MUTILATED BODY FOUND: A mutilated body wrapped in a sack was found along s shopping mall on GT road in Dhulley police limit. The head and limbs of the victim, Ahmed Shahzad, of Ladhewala Warraich, were mutilated. He worked at a filing station at Awan Chowk. The Dhulley police are investigating.
DEAD BODY: A dead body of a woman was found floating in Upper Chenab canal. The Satellite Town police and Rescue 1122 fished the body out of the canal.
