Reckless driving is one of the primary reasons for an increasing number of road accidents. Bus or van drivers barely follow traffic rules and are often caught speeding. It is surprising to see such individuals holding driving licences, although they do not even have the basic road sense. This hints at the fact that getting a driving licence is not a big deal due to prevalent lawlessness in our country.
Some drivers don’t know when and where to push the brakes, they would stop at the turning points of roads to pick up passengers while obstructing the ongoing traffic. Overtaking, misuse of horn, speeding and breaching traffic signals and lane discipline are their common practices. The reason behind this is that there are no strict laws or penalties for violating traffic rules. The government must take notice of this matter and encourage the implementation of traffic laws.
