Polythene bags are widely used across the country. But there are no mechanisms to properly dispose of these bags. Most companies packs their products using polythene bags. More often than not, people discard polythene bags on the streets. This has adverse effects on the environment.
During winter, the people burn polythene bags to stay warming. But the smoke emitted from this practice is injurious to health and causes cancer. Furthermore, it also poses a serious threat to the sanitation system. In order to prevent any health hazards, the government should focus on the proper disposal of polythene bags. It should install incinerators in the right places in cities, towns and villages to save the environment and prevent any negative consequences on people’s health. An alternative to polythene bags must be developed in the long run.
