Dr Ruth Pfau death condoled
PESHAWAR: The Khwendo Kor, a non-governmental organisation, on Monday expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Dr Ruth Pfau.
“We, the Khwendo Kor team express our condolence on the demise of Dr Ruth Pfau who dedicated more than 50 years of her life to the care and treatment of people afflicted with leprosy in Pakistan,” said a message of the organization.
It said that Dr Ruth Pfau tireless and dedicated services provided hope and relief to thousands of Pakistanis who otherwise would face neglect and outcast from even their family members.
There are many people who work for alleviating the ills of others but there are very few who dedicate whole of their lives in soothing the pains of others, among these very few is Dr Ruth Pfau.
The release added that she will remain alive in the hearts of people of Pakistan forever and her services will be remembered with great honour.
Dr Ruth Katherina Martha Pfau was a German-born Pakistani physician and nun of the Society of Daughters of the Heart of Mary. She moved from Germany to Pakistan in 1960 and devoted more than 50 years of her life to fighting leprosy in Pakistan.
