Lawyers are playing a negative role by highlighting the conflict between a judge and lawyers with regard to the Sher Zaman case. The court has passed the order to arrest the president of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), Multan and it is the responsibility of the police to arrest him. Previously, the lawyers have said that in the Nawaz case, they will support the verdict of the five judges. Now, they are opposing the order of the judge.
If lawyers will show such tactics, how will it be possible for the judiciary to restore its superiority and institutional integrity? It is the matter of respecting court orders. Rule of law means that everyone is equal before the law. So why are the lawyers demanding the immunity for the judge? Lawyers are the custodian of the law and they should realise this.
