All resources being used for progress: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Saturday all resources were being used for speedy progress of the province and prosperity of the people.

“Transparency, quality and speed are identity of the Punjab government and hallmark of development projects.

A new example has been set in the history of the country by saving billions of rupees in development projects,” he added.

Talking to parliamentarians from various districts, he said merit was the only way to achieve progress, adding that recruitments in all departments had been made purely on merit.

Talking about various development initiatives taken by the government in different fields, Shahbaz especially mentioned the Kissan Package which, he added, had laid the foundation of revolution in agriculture sector.  He said the government was committed to make Pakistan as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.

Meanwhile, the chief minister in his message on the funeral of Dr Ruth Pfau said she was a hope of life for leprosy patients and had rendered invaluable and memorable services for eliminating TB and leprosy.  He said people of Pakistan valued the services of Dr Ruth who would be remembered forever.
