30 held in Kohat search operation

KOHAT: The police arrested 30 suspected persons in connection with the attack on the employees of the Customs Department, official sources said on Wednesday. Four employees, including Inspector Abdul Wahab, driver Shamim Iqbal, Sepoys Hafeez Shah and Hidayatullah were killed, when unidentified assailants opened fire on their official vehicle on Hangu road on Tuesdaynight. Following the attack, the police along with other law-enforcement agencies launched targetted operation in the surrounding villages and arrested 30 suspected persons. An official, pleading anonymity, toldThe News that three of them were the real accused and arms used in the crime had been seized. Requesting not to publish the names of the three accused, he said they were being interrogated.
